Archicad 29 Template Migration – Door Tags & Library Issues

Hello Everyone,

I have recently migrated my Archicad 28 template to Archicad 29 using the Central Innovation Migration Launchpad.

The migration process appeared to complete successfully with no reported errors; however, I have noticed that the door tags and door labels are no longer functioning correctly within the migrated template. The tags either do not display the expected information or are not reading the door data properly.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue when migrating from Archicad 28 to 29? If so, could you please advise what may be causing this and the best way to resolve it?

I am also interested in hearing about any other issues or items that users should be aware of when migrating templates to the new Archicad 29 library packages. With the transition from the previous Australian library setup to the new global library packages system, I want to make sure I haven't overlooked anything that could create problems later on.

Some specific questions I have are:

  • Are there known issues with door/window labels after migration?
  • Do old favourites need to be recreated or updated?
  • Are there common attribute mapping issues to watch out for?
  • Have any schedules, classifications, properties, or expressions been affected by the new library structure?
  • Are there any Australian-specific library components or workflows that require additional setup in Archicad 29?

Any advice, experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help.

New AC29 library format? Were you using the legacy libraries in AC28?

The folder you loaded is indeed the legacy library. If you look in the folder you had loaded in AC28, you will see that it is actually just the AC27 library...

The issue here is that with the change to Library Packages there is no automatic migration as almost all of the object IDs and some of the parameters and options have changed. I think they have released a few tools that will help convert between them, but ideally you you start from scratch. For older projects, it is best to continue loading the legacy library, though it is not included within the AC29+ installation.

There are a few other posts around here regarding the migration to library packages.

Here is the main article on this topic: https://community.graphisoft.com/t5/Libraries-objects/Archicad-28-Migration-Converting-from-Monolith...

I have linked the latest Archicad 29 library packages to the template. The screenshot I previously shared was from my Archicad 28 template, where I was still using the older library system.

The issue seems to be happening even though the template is now linked to the new Archicad 29 library packages, so I am wondering if there is something else I may have missed during the migration process.

Also Is there a way to implement option 2. Migrating to Archicad 28 and Converting to Global Libraries when you have already migrated to archicad 29?

I used the below progress when I migrated from archicad 27 to Archicad 29 template.

The steps should be all the same, it is all about the change over from the Monolithic Library to Library Packages rather than between AC versions.

So what would be the case for the tags and labels not working?

Your original query was very open ended. In what way are they not working? What is the expected verse displayed information? What door data is not being read? You have updated everything to the new MVO settings? Your third screenshot shows a missing AC26 door marker, did you change all of these over? Migrating to the Global Library is no quick task...

ps. I do not know the issues that you may run into as the conversion to libpacks was seen as a good time to rebuild my template from scratch.
