Tapered Wallhole

Hi all,

How would you go about making a tapered void in a wall? I am wanting to use a window but it would appear that you cannot use a morph(?) as your WALLHOLE. I just get a box hole when I try... In GDL you could probably use a cutting object of the desired shape instead of a wallhole but is making it rather complicated...

I recommend placing the slab on the project origin - I didn't do that for this example hence the co-ordinates being away from '0'.

Barry.

Given my current shape, there is no single convergence point... though that can be modified.

I would say that the 'WALLNICHE' would be the solution here.
It has a method to produce a pyramidal hole, so all you need is the shape (which you have) and what would be the apex point of the pyramid (which you will have to work out).

I have just done a rectangular wallniche.
You will just need to add the points for your curved shape.

That is an idea Heimo. Did not think of building out the taper in a linear void...

Barry, that was written by AC? Where is the option to do a niche?

I created a WALLHOLE (slab with ID) and then turned it into a WALLNICHE but I just tried and you can do the same if you call the ID WALLNICHE - it will create the WALLNICHE code correctly.
You just have to change the method to pyramidal and set the x,y,z co-ordinates for the apex.

Here is one with a curved slab with WALLNICHE ID.
I recommend placing the slab on the project origin - I didn't do that for this example hence the co-ordinates being away from '0'.
