I’ve been experiencing some issues with the EXPLORE MODE, which I initially thought was related to a button. I downloaded the new update today (28.2.0), but the issue persists. Therefore, there must be a setting somewhere, but I can’t figure out where it is. When I select the EXPLORE MODE from the menu or toolbar, the model seems to automatically step down and doesn’t stop. I have to press the ESC key to exit the mode and switch to ORBIT mode.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Or do you have any ideas on what could be causing it? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Fly mode perhaps?
When it is off, you will be stuck in a horizontal plane (you can still page up/down).
When it is on, you will go up or down to where ever you mouse is looking.
There is no gravity to a surface that I know of, that is in BIMx.

Team,
I’m vey happy to share that I’ve identified the root cause of the issue. It’s not related to "Archicad", but I’ve install a couple of small utility programs that I find incredibly useful. One of them is “TypeIt4Me,” and the other is “Magnet.” I encountered an issue with one of them, but fortunately, it was resolved with an upgraded to be compatible with macOS 15. However, I believe they still need to be upgraded to the latest version of the operating system. I’m not entirely sure which program is causing the problem, but I’ve temporarily disabled them, and the issue has been resolved. I hope this information helps someone else in the future.

Team,
I’m writing to share an unusual experience I’ve been having with my computer. The most frustrating issue has been a delay in response time. It’s not freezing, but it’s definitely noticeable. Initially, I suspected that third-party software was causing the problem, but after following a suggestion to reinstall ODs 15.5, all the issues have been resolved.
I hope this information helps someone else who may be experiencing similar problems. I’m back to using AC 29 without any strange behaviors.

Hi @iggiv
Perhaps the “W” or “up arrow” keys are physically locked/damaged for some reason. Try using a different keyboard. 🤔

Ricardo,
Thank you very much for your response and comments. They make a lot of sense to me as well. That’s the behavior I’ve been experiencing. I’ve tried pressing all the keys and arrows, but only the ESC key stops the behavior. I’ve also tried using a different keyword, but it doesn’t make any difference.
This issue only occurs in the EXPLORE MODE. Thank you again I will keep searching and poste a solution when I find it.

Dear Barry,
I wanted to follow up on your suggestion regarding the issue I’ve been experiencing with AC28. I believe your suggestion was the cause of the problem, and I’ve been trying to find a solution, but I haven’t been able to. When I first open AC28, I remember turning off the “DO NOT SHOW THIS INFORMATION NEXT TIME” option. However, I’ve noticed that this information window doesn’t have any settings available. While I’m in Fly Mode, I’m stuck and can only use the ESC key or the “J” key to switch to Joystick mode. The problem is like the DOWN arrow is locked, and It only move down without any input. Pressing any key doesn’t work either. If I can identify the root cause of the issue, I’ll be sure to report it. Thank you for your concern. Have a nice weekend, and a happy Father’s Day to all fathers.

UPDATE: I’m playing with ACB1, and the problem persists. I was hoping it would fix the issue, but it didn’t. This means I might have to revert to an older setting.

I suspected it might be a dirty keyboard or something related to the track mouse. So, I disconnected both and used a mouse. Unfortunately, there were no changes. The EXPLORE MODE is locked, preventing me from having control over it. It only moves down.

I’ve been trying to find a reason why this issue persists, and I’d like to share some additional information to see if anyone has a suggestion.
I’m trying to access Explore Mode within the ACB1 test version, but the problem continues. This suggests that it’s not a setting issue. Therefore, I thought it might be an incompatibility problem, so I disconnected everything and used the laptop directly. However, the problem still persists. It seems as if the down key is acting as a lock, and I can only use the Esc key.
In search of a solution I keep search and testing. I will post if I find a solution.

I am not sure what is happening to you (but be sure not to discuss the Beta software outside of the Beta forum).
The down arrow will actually be moving you backwards.
'Page Down' or 'C' will move down.
So are you saying that as soon as you go into explore mode, your view just drops down below the model and you can't stop it except to ESC (cancel)?
The joystick mode is very sensitive.
If you are holding the mouse over it with the left button pressed, the slightest of movements off centre will keep you moving in that direction.
Personally, I would forget the joystick.
Barry.

do you have a stuck/sticky key on the laptop keyboard?
