Any way to set up auto generated title blocks?

Hi

We are trying to set up auto generated title blocks for our AC10 layout templates. The fact is that the company name, address, client and project name, project number, layout number drg scale are fine - no problem with those.

But the layout architect, date, and revision number are the problems because there are no corresponding entry boxes for these in the layout settings box. Is there any way to set these up or do they have to be typed in as normal text items?

In Autocad there is a way of setting up attributes for all the titleblock so that the whole of the drawing title entries can be typed in one go from a single entry box - is there any way of doing this in Archicad?

And whilst Im on is there also any way to do this for the revisions themselves - ie have an attribute that can be copied and clicked to type in a rev no, date, author and description?

The Project Info has default fields for all those values, and you can make up as many more as you like. They can then all be placed as autotext. Look under the file menu for the Project Info box.
File Info Project Info

Yes I know about the Project Info Box but the problem is that putting it in the project info will mean it is the same for every drawing in the file and obviously you need the individual drawings revision, author, date etc info to be different for each drawing. They really need to be provided in the layout settings not the project info, but they arent. In fact providing the issue date, architect, and any other drawing centric info as opposed to project info in the project info is non-sensical and I cant see the point in having this info where it is.

What Graphsoft need to do in order to get such data working correctly is have the project info only include the practice details, client, project number and project name, but have the layout info for each drawing include the drawing number, architect, drg creation date, scale and revision letter.

Thats how every architect Ive ever worked with has had their title sheets set up. I'd like to see how a title box could be made to work with the present settings as they stand.
Not a problem at all. Use there are several ways to do the things you want.

Have you tried using the Sheet Index or this?

You can make library parts for your tile blocks too.

You already know this probably, but you do not need to assign the same Master to every sheet either.

Post a picture of your title block.

I am sure you will get some very good solutions.

Hi Nats,
While putting in text in the 'title block' on any master you can insert autotext where there are quite a few more options than project info. moreover you can also have more than the four custom fields that are given in the project info. just click new in the dialouge box.

Revision numbering is not best handled with Master Sheets. Revision management is an area in need of improvement and GS are aware of this. The simplest way is probably to just place text and revision keys on the individual sheets. (I assume that you are referring to the addendum process with clouds and keys since full set issue dates are easily handled in masters and apply to the entire set.)
