Controlling the stretch of Complex Profile Walls

Anonymous
Not applicable
I've created a Complex Profile Wall but I'd like to edit it so that the top section (cladding) stretches but the bottom section stays at a fixed height, in the case 1650mm.

Can I do this and if so how do I do it please? I've tried a quick Google but couldn't find anything about control of Complex Profile Walls

In the complex profile settings you will se an option for 'Vertical stretch"
Activate this (tick box) and turn it on (layer eye).
Then you can adjust the position of the lines in your profile and only the portion between will stretch.

You can even add notes in the profile as shown here for future reference - they won't appear in the model.

Thanks Barry, I was just coming back on to say I'd figured it out.

Appreciate the tip about notes in the profile, very handy!

Re complex profiles for walls, can they be created using composite wall build ups within the profile editor?

The reason I ask is that Nicholas advised in one of my other posts that it is better to create from scratch rather than merge walls and I wondered what the best starting point/workflow was please.

You can only use fills in the complex profile editor. All other tools except annotation tools will be greyed out. Annotation will automatically go in its own "Drafting" layer and will be visible in the complex profile editor only.

Merging walls is handy if you already have the 3D walls in place and want to swap them out for a complex profile.
It will create a 'Custom' wall which you should really open and rename (and adjust other settings if necessary).
This just automates the creation of the fills in the profile.

Otherwise start from scratch with a new profile (or duplicate and existing one).
You need to create all the fills - correct shape, size and building material (fill pattern).
Do this if you don't already have the walls in place.
It is best to model the fills with the outside face on the origin and the fills to the left of the origin to be consistent with the automatically made ones.
