Is it some smart trick to make the beams inside the red box look like how they will be cut in the real world ? None of the SEOs or boolean operations I tried did that, the closest I got was a boolean operation that cut away everything BUT the intersection. Anyone?

Model with complex profile beams and have the reference lines meet, this will solve the connection automatically.

You can just draw the beam 'upright' and rotate it in the beam settings.

Just tried that, see picture. Somehow the reference line seem to shift when rotated, as you can see in the picture... Doesn't matter if I draw at 320, 40 degree angle or 0 degree angle and then rotates. I've think I've tried every possible setting, but I can't get it to work...

Tried drawing it as a complex profile with the defined cant as default?

The reference line is relative to the profile, so if you're not rotating along that line it will obviously shift. As long as each of the elements was rotate along the same relative z, you should still be able to stretch the nodes till they reconnect and the profile autocompletes the corner.
