!Restored: Deisappering flattened drawings

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello to the forum.
I received recently a file - rather large ~60mb of a 4 storey private house, with the elevations and section flattened as a 2d drawing. In the last couple of days , everytime i go to any of the 7 sections , they just disappear from view map (absolutely empty), regardless of rebuild from model etc operations.
They are linked to the layout book and I am trying to publish.
Please help.
OS: Vista 32-bit, Archicad 10.
Cheers

Hi Anotherone,

Have a look at AC-10's system requirements - Vista isn't supported. If you want to use Vista, you'll have to upgrade to AC-11.

Dear Vistasp,

I have been working with this spec and AC10 on another project for over a year now, true it is not the best spec, but still rather smooth.
Maybe, something else?!

What type of file is it? (dwg, dwf, dxf, pdf, ifc?)

How did you get it into ArchiCAD? (open it, merge it, xref it, drawing tool, 3d object?)

This infomation may help others in diagnosing the problem if it isn't Vista related.

Hello Peter,

thanks for your reply.
The file is a proper AC .pln. No dwg, or anything else. I have been uploading other file into it , but when they are not early dwg version , they won't open. In the mean time I suspect, that the reason might be the RAM on the pc I work: just 1.5GB, in two slots - 512MB and 1GB. When I open AC, and Internet Explorer and say Microsoft Outlook then maybe it has difficulties calculating all I am doing at the same time. But I really need this three for emails, web research and the drawings themselves. Could that be, I am not very clued obviously on the tech part of it. But maybe. I started reducing the file size by deleting old viewports/3d views/planning application drawings. Although I really liked keeping this info in the same file.
Thanks again for your reply.
