This 5 minute ArchiCAD video tip saved one client 2 hrs work

Hi Everyone -

I have just posted one of my shortest but most powerful ArchiCAD video tips - at 5 minutes long it actually saved one of my clients 2 hours work (compared to how she used to do things). I call it Quick Change.

It has to do with how you set window and door ID's for schedules. In the video I show several ways to speed this up. One of them allows you to set a batch of ID's automatically - 5, 10, 20 or more at a time.

What is little known is that you can actually choose the order that ArchiCAD does this (in other words, in which direction or what sequence it numbers things) AND set the starting ID - so you can do this anywhere in the project starting at the appropriate ID designator.

Once you learn this (which is actually surprisingly easy) it will be like getting a power tool to drive screws into drywall rather than using a manual screwdriver. This "power tool" is built into ArchiCAD but is not well known or used.

To watch the video, you'll need to opt-in to my ArchiCAD Tips and Best Practices email list, but there's no charge and no obligation. You can unsubscribe at any time.

BONUS: You'll also get to watch my 45 minute presentation on The 7 Keys to Best Practices for ArchiCAD, available on the same website, and download the videos and transcript for later reference.

Available only for a limited time - go there now to check it out, and save yourself some work! Enjoy...

Eric
