Wall Accessories - Mouldings & Panels

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am using the Wall Accessories - Mouldings & Panels to model a wall with two different siding treatments. The Wall is specified as a Cedar Shingle and the Wall Accessory is a Base Board with a 8'-1" Height and a Material of Horizontal Siding. All is well except for the ends of the wall. The Molding or panel adds an extra little piece at each end.

making this change in the Macro itself does exactly what adding the size to the third martix value. with this fix you do guarantee a fix by changing the reference by either 6" or by 0.5 meters. The third value is simply the local index for the individual reference thicknesses per profile. good job with the macro call edit!

Thanks to both.
LiHigh, your fix is very quick. Great tip.

There is another small problem with cut angles for wainscot and wallpanel.
I can't find which params are involved. By any chance, did one of you solve this one too?
Thanks anyway.

Bingo! This is for curved walls.

1 - The wainscot does not start at the good level.

2 - Base, chair and crown are not correct in rendering.
In the macro "Profile Revolver", some status code should be 2 instead of 0.

2 - Empty base results in an alert, and can not be done.

3 - Wall accessory resolution is the same as wall resolution, ok, but the origin should coincide with the wall origin
and the accessory should follow the construction method of the curved wall :
Always start with a half straight segment, and finish with another straight one (not automatically half),
the only way to have a clean junction and a smooth rendering between straight and curved parts.
Difficult, i agree, but doable. This should be the most important, for me.

Because of this lack, one can not use a single chair or crown, without wainscot or wallpanel (lines don't show). It is a pity.

To stay in the same topic, this old one is for inclined wall accessory.

With some wallholes or wallniches, status code for edge visibility is not correct.
Result : edge lines don't show (Left) and rendering is bad (Right)

It has something to do with the macro "Wall Cutting Body", but i can not fix it, this is a job for programers.
Please GS, can you fix it?

For users who don't know.
Highlight the part name, or type it anywhere into a GDL script and highlight it (but delete it after or type a ! before),
for eg "My part name" (only the text part).
Apply your shortcut for opening a library part (Cmd+< on Mac) and you have a direct access to the part, anywhere it is.
Win users will tell you the right shortcut, sorry i don't remember.

LiHigh, for me, your tip is the month's winner. If i could, i would give you a GS mug. .
Cheers

I found the part, but because I am reading from the .pla file. Ehen I have mdified the GDL script, I am then asked where I want to save the modified file separately. We have strict policy NOT to modify the .pla file, so how do I proceed with that constraint?

You need to Save As with a modified name, into a folder you then load as a library.
