I have received this message when opening a model view (elevations, sections, 3D) through several versions, starting with 8.1, I think (I'm currently on 10/1188 and 11/1114). I'm sure this has been discussed, but my search has produced nothing recent or (sadly) helpful. This is a great forum, so I'm throwing it out there again. I don't know GDL, but I do remember messages in earlier versions referencing door or window parts as culprits. I've since turned off all error reporting (which seems to ignore this one particular message), and nothing appears to be problematic as far as the appearance and performance of the model is concerned. It's just an annoyance to have to hit the enter key each time this pops up, and especially maddening when updating layouts prior to plotting. It should also be noted that once the model has been rebuilt in a specific view, re-opening the view does not re-trigger the message, unless I go to a different option set (floor plans, for example), and then re-open the view.

Anyone? (Pardon all the parentheses.)

You'll need to turn error reporting back on again and describe what the error(s) specifcally says, before anyone will be able to help.

Cheers,
Link.

Ah, well, that would make sense. The errors typically show something like this:

As I mentioned, I'm GD Illiterate, so the reference, unfortunately, eludes me. The model and extracted drawings look fine. It's just a pain. Thanks for any suggestions.

My guess is that you have a door/window that extends out of the boundary of a wall or you have duplicate walls on top of each other. You'll probably have to go through your model one piece at a time until you find the culprit and delete it.

my 2 cents.

Thanks for the suggestions, however...
This occurs in every project file, and has for years.
I have no issues with the model appearing improperly in sections, elevations, etc., which would be the case with duplicate walls.
There aren't any door or window elements which extend beyond walls.

I have encountered all of the pitfalls you've mentioned in the past with the associated modeling error issues, but this one continues to stump me.

wa_frame_us_10.gsm is a window macro called by AC 10 windows.
You have probably set a dimension type parameter for the
a window frame to zero which causes the polygon to degenerate.
Please do a search on this forum using the key words wa_trim_us_10.
You will find discussions about what the problem is and how to fix it.

Peter-

Thanks for the suggestion. I've looked through the archives, and found Matthew Lohden's macro fix thread(s). I understand about extracting the library container file and replacing the macro, but I'm at a lost at how to recreate the container file for future use. I tried the command in ArchiCAD, but it did not seem to work. Any thoughts or suggestions, at your convenience, would be much appreciated.
I don't suppose that this fixes the door-swing-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-wall issue, does it?

Erik,
Fixing the wa_trim_us_10 macro will not fix the wa_frame_us_10 macro.
I referred you to that to give you an idea about what
was causing errors in the wa_frame_us_10 macro.
I am unfamiliar with the door-swing-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-wall issue.
To create a .lcf go to file-> libraries and objects->create a container.
Again, I suspect that you are getting errors in the file wa_frame_us_10
because you have set some dimension value for the frame to zero .

Thank you for the clarification. One of the things I love about this forum is the availability of expertise.
I am unfamiliar with the door-swing-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-wall issue.
This is the one where the door swing does not appear on the side of the wall that is referenced by clicking. I've seen it pop up occasionally in this forum, and it still remains one of the maddening issues for me (since version 9, I think).
To create a .lcf go to file-> libraries and objects->create a container.
I tried this but I get a scratch file. I also have no opportunity to specify content, or is the content whatever happens to be in the project file?
Again, I suspect that you are getting errors in the file wa_frame_us_10

I've tried to check individual library part types with no luck, unless rough opening dimensions count. Thanks again for your guidance.

Erik,
A .lcf stands for library container file. After you extracted the
AC library so that you could replace the wa_trim_us_10 macro
with Matthew's edited version you should select the AC library
folder (the entire enclosing folder) and create a container.
You should not try to create a container of an AC project.
The .lcf format is for folders containing library parts.
