can't change line type in Archicad 15

My whole office has complained to me (the CAD Manager) that they can't change the line type in 15. I've noticed it too, but only on occasion, sometimes I can, sometimes I can't. Either way its a bug and needs some fixing. Has anyone had a similar experience in 15?

UPDATE: Apparently the fix is to delete some unused line types in Attribute Manager. We had about 80+ line types, of which about 40 were brought in from xrefs and weren't being used. The project is in teamwork and this fixed it for everyone working on the project. I still think its some sort of bug.

Casey:

One other thing to check: if the element is assigned to a Renovation Status that is set to Override in the Filter Settings, and the Renovation Override Style uses Line Type as one of its attributes, then only that Line Type will be used on the element regardless of its setting in the Info Box or dialog box. May not be the issue in your case, but something to watch out for.

The first thing I did was create a RENOVATION FILTER .... ALL AS IS...

First thing I check for when things look graphically awry.

@David, That was one thing I checked because I found that out with some walls, I couldn't figure out why they were dashed and gray. Then I remembered the renovation filter. I've received a couple complaints from other drafters in our firm also.

Ever since we deleted the mass amount of unused line types we haven't had an issue.

Thanks!

This is a great idea -- especially when migrating a project to AC15 and/or when you won't be using the filters. Too bad GS didn't think of this and have all Viewpoints default to "ALL AS IS" instead of "Existing."

Peeve #3298....

Nice new Renovation Filter list and all..

But since the names don't match what I want.. And since I change my mind all the time...

Did you know that simply RENAMING a filter will cause it to show as MISSING in all the VIEWS that use it! Ugh... to my knowledge this doesn't happen with any other setting in AC....

So now I'm going back and finding all the views that used them and re-linking...

Actually, we should be thankful that this might be the only one left that has this issue...

This "Missing" business has been a long-time complaint. Through AC 14, if you renamed:
1. Layer Combination
2. Pen Set
3. Model View Option
those things showed up as "Missing". In 15, all views show the new names! 🙂

So, let's hope for a hotfix that will make the filter names correct themselves as well.

Cheers,
Karl
