I had no luck making it invisible frame or 0 thickness frame, so I usually give that frame a 1/4" to 1/2" thickness for the threshold. If it has no threshold, 1/64".
After you adjust the thickness, you need to adjust the adjacent vertical frames intersection priorities to make them join properly.

Making the lower frame invisible is the way to do it. To get the door panel to extend all the way down, select the invisible frame and change the 'panel slot dimension' (d) to a minus figure equal to half the width of the frame.
The priority of the vertical jambs will need to be increased to a figure greater than that of the boundary frames (usually set at 15) in order to get them to extend past.
