I thought scheduling had been updated to allow more calculations but if it has, I haven't found the secret sauce to do it in the schedule and not have to export to Excel. I want to be able to group objects (in this example electrical outlets) so I know how many I need to purchase but I'd also like the total quantity to multiply by the individual cost to arrive at the total price for that row (i.e. all of them). See:
Then If possible, I'd like to sum the column of row total costs to equal the cost for all materials and multiply that by the sales tax to arrive at the exact cost of all materials as I draw.
Is there a way to do this?

You can't do calculations between fields, but you can organise them to give a sum and grand total.
I don't have anything set up for cost, but I can calculate the wattage of my lights.
You would just substitute cost for my wattage, and you won't need the total column.
The trick is to use the flag icon to get subtotals.
That should be closer to what you want.

Thank you! Thats an interesting work around I would have never discovered or thought to do (I have a total mental block to what the flag button does)
Does anyone know if there are any plans in the works to add more calculation features to schedules?
If I had the ability to do multiplication, division, multiply totals by tax rates, add several numbers like cost plus shipping plus tax, etc, etc, I 'm confident I could create a template which would almost perfectly cost out the project by merely doing the drawings.
FYI-I'm a builder that does a lot of my own CAD work so I see the value in this more than most users but I think architects are sleeping on this added service because once the template is set up, its hardly any additional work that could easily garner thousands in more revenue

It is being considered.
