Hi,
I created a schedule for windows and added some "custom text" columns. As I am entering the text for these window elements, the schedule works fine for the first 2 windows and then stops saving the manually entered text for the next window elements. If I save and restart the project, the issue arises again: the list works for further 2 window elements and doesn't save the next values anymore. Any suggestion how to solve this bug?
Thank you in advance!

While I have not attempted troubleshooting to find an explanation for why your currentworkflow appears to work for the first two window elements and then stops saving for the rest, I would strongly recommend avoiding the use of “Custom Text” fields altogether for this type of workflow.
Reason being that the Custom Text fields in schedules are a legacy feature that predates the introduction of Properties in Archicad. They come with several inherent limitations:
The entered values are stored only within the schedule view, not in the elements themselves. This means that If the schedule criteria changes in any way (layer changes, renovation filters, view settings, etc.), causing the scheduled elements to temporarily disappear from your schedule; the values entered in the custom text field can dissapear permanently, even if you modify the schedule criteria to show the elements again.
Because the data is not element based, this workflow is known to be unreliable for larger schedules or repeated edits.
Due to these limitations, Custom Text is not recommended for complex schedules or element data that needs to be retained consistently.
As a best practice, use Properties instead of Custom Text. Properties are embedded directly in the elements themselves, which means the data is not tied to a specific schedule view. This also allows typical values to be stored in Favorites, making them easier to reuse and standardize. Because Properties are element based, they persist regardless of how or where the element is scheduled and are far more stable and scalable for this type of workflow.
You can find step by step instructions under “Method 2: Using custom properties” in this article:

Thanks for the reply. I see your point. On the scale of my project it would have been the perfect thing to use these old custom texts: it is too much work to introduce all these new properties.

If you don't have modules, it will be the same: you can enter data in properties directly in the schedule.

thank you too for the info. I have just tried it. You are right: I can add the text in the schedule...it's just that this text also disappears after typing "enter"

You have to verify if every element selected in the schedule is modifyable: non locked layer, reserved element if shared project, etc...

yes, I have just checked that.
For some elements I managed to type in some custom text. And later on I can't even erase the priorly entered text..No manual change is possible in the schedule, on any element.
