AC13 zoom out bug

Anonymous
Not applicable
I use a graphics tablet and so rely on my shortcut keys for zooming around a drawing.
A particular file which has some Autocad xrefs in it is giving me pesky results when trying to zoom out.
Using the pen, I hit 'v' (any ex vetorworks users out there?) and draw my zoom out zone. In this file it takes me to a completely different part of the project. Really annoying. Zoom-in using the z key works fine and the scroll button on the (guest) mouse works too.
This is not a problem on other new AC13 files without xrefs.
Anybody have a clue how to solve this one?

Try this: Select the XREF and Zoom to Fit All.
Maybe there is some little line or arc somewhere in the XREF that is way far from the actual drawing within the XREF. And this will define the boundaries of the XREF.
Just guessing.

Lazz you're on the right track...

Turned out that the origin of one of the xref'd Autocad files was a few thousand km away (a survey scaled up by 1000 I believe).
Solution turned out to be using another xref file which in turn xref'd the survey file but then placed it near the project origin.

Zoom out now behaves normally.

Take home lessons:
1] Archicad really does not like vast project dimensions.
2] Your old views will remember this problem so you must re-make them.
