Bug / R11 Build 1040 / Sections becomes transparent

Anonymous
Not applicable
SUMMARY
Having installed the last hotfix, 1040, my sections become transparent (and useless). I'm talking about all walls etc.
DESCRIPTION
…. (se above)
If anyone can reproduce, this is a bug.
I have R11 w/ hotfix 1033 on another PC. No problem there
REPRODUCE
Try this:
- Install hotfix 1040
- Open a section.
- Rebuild from model (if not Auto-rebuild)

No, I'm not far from origin, - max 50 m.

I know a lot about problems which relates to being far from origin because our local (Norwegian) surveyor coordinates is around (-15 000,+1 205 000 m). AC can't handle that / real coordinates in site plans.

Graphisoft and / or CadImage really needs to have a look at this .. Now
My 8000$ (50000 Nkr)program doesn't work!!

I have tried the following

Opened file in version 11.1040
Erased everything, except walls.
Sections / elevations still transparent.

Unloaded all libraries.
Sections / elevations still transparent.

Opened file in version 11.1033 (on same PC).
Section / elevation still transparent.

Opened file in version 11.970 (on same PC).
Section / elevation still transparent.

Opened file in version 11.970 (on another PC which hasn't got DW builder installed).
Section / elevation OK !!!!!!

Fresh install of 11.970 on first PC.
Opened file in version 11.970 (DW builder not reinstalled).
Section / elevation OK !!!!!!

Updated to 11.1033.
Open file in version 11.1033 (DW builder still not reinstalled)
Section / elevation OK !!!!!!

..11.1040 next ..

My best guess is that this problem has something to do with errors / bugs in Cadimage add on files (apx) and/or data CadImage puts in the registry (windows).

I really liked DW builder much better before. It used to be a library, but has developed in to an add-on with activation. .... and some serious problems?

.. now I have wasted a whole working day on this issue ...

That is awful. We use DWB on 11.1040 - on OSX and XP - have never had this problem (but others). You are running XP? Do you have a mac you can compare with?

.... nothing happens?

This problem still surfaces from time to time in release 1114.
Will Graphisoft ever fix this?

Seems to me this one is on Cadimage's table.

Door and Window Builder is still just a library. The add-on provides an update facility and scheduling, but will have no effect on sections.

… This problem still occurs in R12 build 2675, but I have at least found a way to fix it:
a) Open a 3D view
b) Change 3D windows settings to
Internal engine
Contours best
c) In special menu select
Show Special Lines
(This should turn off special lines?)
Why does a "Show Special Lines" in 3D fix a section? I don't know.
Why/how is "Show Special Lines" in 3D turn on? I don't know.

Better in R13?

We are experiencing a similar issue in AC12-2675 with placed modules.
Multiple instances of a module are placed in a file forming the building. Some flipped, some not. On opening elevation some walls become transparent, but not all walls of that placed module.
If elevation is closed and reopened, different walls go transparent.
Attempted the stretching the section marker limits some times this will correct problem other times it will not. Deleting modules and then a undo will also correct for that viewing of the elevation.

Same files also have placed modules that have been trimmed with Boolean Operators. But these are not the ones with transparent walls. After updating republishing Module and updating, Boolean Operators no longer trim walls.

As a side note this is only happening on machine, we have 35. All intel macs all with the same AC Build.

Any thoughts would be great !
