Codemeter update - error message

Frank Beister

I tried to upgrade codemeter network stick for AC17. I got a message, that I should have to program the stick first.

Does anyone has an idea, what to do? Is this a thing GS only can do? I've sent the related infofile, but no response so far.

Would like to continue my AC17 projects.

Are you guys using the new downloadable update app from the GS web site... Or the old java-based upgrade web page?

Yes, we got a solution: We have changed the dongle type a few month before and we forgot to send back the old one. So our license was locked to 16. Now all works fine. We sent back the dongle and GS unlocked our license.

All,

with licensing issues, please contact your local support team or reseller and they will be happy to assist you right away:

To locate your local representative, please consult this page: http://www.graphisoft.com/info/where_to_buy/

Updating the licenses on Protection Keys is possible on either of the following ways:
- via the brand new License Activation tool: http://www.graphisoft.com/downloads/licensing/
- via the upgrade site: https://upgrade.graphisoft.com/ This second one requires you to enable Java in browsers. Please find here a guide for that: http://www.archicadwiki.com/RemoteKeyUpgrade/Troubleshooting

Eduardo,

I will contact you with some possible solutions. For all others one thing to try is a fresh install of the USB keyplug driver. Here are the steps we recommend at North American tech support:

1. Remove the USB license key from the computer.
2. Download the latest driver for your type of key. software version number and operating system from here: http://www.graphisoft.com/downloads/protection_key.html
3. Uninstall the current driver:
•Windows: Go to Control Panel / Programs & Features. Locate WibuKey or CodeMeter in the list and uninstall.
•Mac: Open the download from step 2 and use the WkUninstall or CmUninstall app.
4. Run the installer from step 2.
5. Restart the computer.
6. Re-insert the USB license key.
7. If activation is needed then download, install and run the GRAPHISOFT License Activation tool: http://www.graphisoft.com/downloads/licensing/
8. Start ArchiCAD.
