this is my current system configuration:

AMD 64 X2 3800+ socket 939
Asus A8NSLI Premium, sound realtek on board, 2xLAN on board
2 GB DDRAM Kingston low latency - CL2
Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT 256mb, 128 bit
Case Antec P180
Power supply Antec Neo HE 500W
DVD-RW Asus
mouse Logitech MX310
keyboard

besides the case and the dvd-drive...is there something worth keeping here?
and what do you suggest i replace each of the out-dated components?

thanx

yep, keep the case and the optical and hard drives. after that:

AMD 64 X2 3800+ -> Intel Core 2 Quad of some sort
Asus A8NSLI Premium -> Gigabyte X38 series
2 GB DDRAM Kingston -> 4Gb G-Skill DDR2
Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT 256mb -> GeForce 8800 512

cpu.......check

i was thinking of Abit IP35 series...

4 GB DDR2........check

i was thinking of buying a FireGL graphics card...or one of the HD series from Sapphire...they can be software-modded into FireGL

what is your oppinion about these components?

the P35 chipset is a good option too but will not give you the upgrade options that the X38 or Skulltrail series will. If you're not worried about upgrade options, then go for the P35 though.
The FireGL is a good option too, although i would stay clear of softmodding anything for a business machine. I always recommend nVidia because i have a particular loathing for ATI's driver and control-panel system. Plus the nVidia cards are almost always faster and(in my experience) more reliable.
