Intel CPU's speed combo's

Now that AC can use multicore I'm looking at intel quadcore cpu's.
Of these options, what would AC be most thankful for.
I don't do much rendering but section and elevation seem slow on my current single 2.8

So Intel quadcore
FSB(front side bus)
1066MHz
1333MHz

L2 Cache
4MB
6MB
12MB
2 x 4MB
In other words would say, dropping down to 1066fsb but upping to 6mb cache from 4?
Or go with 1333 FSB and just 4mb cache.
Or what part of AC might best use 12mb cache?
Hope this is understandable.
Thanks

Hi Lec,

There is no one answer, three sources for you to read up on:

1) Read the ArchiWiki on AC12 (click on the ArchCad12 item under "Products"), http://www.archicadwiki.com, you will find the first two items discuss 2D speed and 3D speed.

2) Passmark, http://www.passmark.com/index.html, click on the Benchmark tab, you will find speed scores for a variety of CPU's, Video Cards and Hard Drives. See what performance your getting for $ spent.

3) Tom's Hardware, http://www.tomshardware.com/us/
at Tom's you will find extensive articles testing different memory/CPU/etc speeds vs real world results in applications that vary from simple to loaded renders. Site is mainly for techies looking to improve performance and build their own PC's.

Hope this helps,
Mark

Thanks Mark.
Although I think this 64 bit thing is game changing.
