Dear Minh,
Thank you for your reply - sorry for the long time to my answer - was in other buisness stressed...
Well, it is less a question of the used FEW-software - it is the scurity policies of the company (it is a govermental company and there are about 50 tsd. Clients in the network... so a quite big environment and ARCHICAD is a "quite exotic" software in this environment. (it will be only used by a few technic-guys)
The policies to open a connection to the internet from a "as server" declared maschine IS :
tell the sys-admin a good reason why you need the connection and the appname, protocol and the used ports.
It is not unusual that the sys-admin wants to know the port(s) and protocolls on which a app communicates through the internet - in my thought, this makes a responsible sys-admin, knowing what happens in "his/her" network...
also looking forward to your answer,
best regards from vienna,
Klaus
