OS X and Epson Inkjet

I recently bought an Epson R320 (a newer model-$200) to do color photo prints and have had printing problems when printing from a G5 (10.3.5) and also from a G4 (10.3).

It will print textedit files, email files and pdf files, but "stops the job" when printing out of iPhoto or Word for OS X. It works sometimes, but consistantly freezes on both machines.

I have emailed and called Epson tech several times and they have been very helpful (wait time 1 to 3 minutes!) and even sent me another printer-all to no avail.

Installed, reinstalled and updated drivers, switched cables etc. They finally told me that there was nothing else they could do and it might be an unknown conflict with iPhoto (I think they are right) and Word. Have looked online, but found nothing of real help.

Anyone else had problems with Epson? I have had 3 Epsons in the past and all worked fine with OS 9. Or maybe another inkjet you like better?

Hi,

In general, try the following:

1. Repair permisssions.
2. Clear cashes
3. Check driver has not been updated
4. Delete printer from setup list and add again.

Items 1 and 2 can be done using the shareware utility Yasu, a free download from:
