Text bug or settings problem ? Font size change on paste

Cosmin Ghioanca

Hello guys. Got an annoying problem here. I copy text from one box and I paste it into a different one. No big deal, but this one changes font size after it was pasted into the second box. The second size is arbitrary, usually at a higher size. For example the original font size is 1,500 mm and after it was pasted goes to 1,5796 mm.

PS I've noticed that it is influenced by the zoom. Do you know where can I look into making some changes. I need the program to preserve the original settings.

Thank you all and have a nice one.

I also notice this - especially with font size in dimension strings , when one dimension of the string will take on a different size.

That is bizarre - I would say BUG!

You can pan but don't zoom between pastes.
I tested in 22 and it is doing this weird behaviour.
I checked back in 18 and it seems fine there.

Okay, Barry, yes I got into it on 22 version also. Tanks for time you toked on this one. So, I'm not familiar whit the procedures on the forum. Should I announce the problem, or someone is already doing/done that ? How can I find that out ? I insist on it cause is annoying and it can easily increase time spent on annotate process. Meanwhile I will adopt the copy-paste technique for the hall element and the pan-no zoom for small text parts. But this is medieval and frustrating. Have a nice one.

Bugs mentioned here don't automatically get reported.
It is best if you contact your local distributor and report the problem to them through their support system.

I would hope such an obvious bug like this would have been reported already.
I have never noticed it as I have not yet started using 22 productively and would rarely copy text from one text to another.

Sometimes if we are lucky and one of the Graphisoft people are reading this forum, they may take note of it.

Hello Everyone,

Yes, you should always report things like this directly to your local support/reseller, that's the fastest and most direct way. Even if it was reported before, at least they can estimate how widespread an issue is if they get reports from more people.

This is actually something that has been reported to us recently from elsewhere, and it is on our list to fix (fix #252494). We want to fix this before our next updates for ARCHICAD 21 (80xx) and 22 (50xx).

Seems it hasn't been fixed yet in 22 build 6021.

https://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=67922

I would have checked the build release notes for 6001, but I can only get to update 6021.
I see no link to earlier updates.
And when I try updates for earlier versions there is no version 21 or 22 at all.

Hi Barry,

Yes, you are right, it is not fixed yet. As we further investigated the issue, we realized that it is not such an easy fix, because the faulty component affects a lot of different functions (the issue is related to High Resolution Display handling in ARCHICAD). We are still working on finding a solution that is safe to implement. Thank you for the patience in the meantime.

Regarding the website and the previous updates. The Archive Downloads page is a page for the versions no longer supported with updates. ARCHICAD 21, 22 (and soon 23) updates are on the main Update download page. Just navigate to Downloads > Downloads for ARCHICAD > ARCHICAD Updates, and choose the version you are looking for with the drop-down menus.

Thanks Daniel.

Just out of interest I don't actually have a hi-res monitor.
But I guess you are saying the program is written to allow for hi-res displays which is causing the problem.

Regarding the website, maybe it should say "For earlier versions, please visit the archive downloads page" - rather the earlier downloads.

I now also see the "Show all" button to get earlier build updates - I didn't notice that before.

Thanks again,
Barry.
