i'm looking for a new videocard and I found the Radeon X1950 GT (512MB DDR3 256bit) and was wondering if this is a good card in combination with Archicad11?

Tnx John

Probably pretty good.
AC takes advantage of the card's potential mainly in the 3D Window.
I think this is a pretty strong card, it will serve you well for a long time.

I´m still not decided between the 1950 PRO and the 8600 GT series.
I was wondering if the 8600GT serie wouldn't be a better choice for Archicad because of the DirectX10 support.

The NVIDIA 8800 GTS w/ 640mb ram is a good deal for the power it has. It will be adequate for a couple of years at least.
I am happy with it.

Directx 10 may become an issue down the road a bit (year or so). Right now not much software is utilizing it. I have no idea whether AC12 will be hip to it or not.
