here is a small sampling of the t/w warnings I have been trouble shooting the past week. This feels like something is broken... or theres something else at play here (my tinfoil hat is on pretty tight right now). And these are about 1/4-1/2 of what I've been sent:

Two weeks ago a GS employee promised to look into it. I bet 30$ that we hear from her again within 30days.
If I lose, I donate 30$ to deSEC.io, a free and open source none profit organization. If you lose, you donate it to something you like. Who is up for a bet? 😀

haha! which GS employee/region?
if you call GSNA now, you get a canned response "all our support are busy at this time. We are unable to take voice mail"...
...
if you contact your local support, and CC you reseller, you may get better results. 99x out of 100 I only get a canned auto-email response. Occassionally, when I loop all my direct GS contacts in, I'll get some attempt at "looking into it".
...
I'm thankful that this time, it seems they are actually looking at the problem. But their response that they need to fix my files, not the software, is more than a little deflating.

@Patrick M you mention addons and libraries being a problem - would be good to know which ones to avoid.
Although a client I am helping adopt Archicad only just started using it this year and a few days into their first teamwork project, they got a "Data can't be merged" error. So far it only happened once but a very vanilla template, no addons, no additional libraries besides what GS ships. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.

Here is an answer we received from GS support in Germany regarding the "corruption" message we often receive.
I did not have yet time to test this, it might just be a specific thing, don't shoot the messenger.
As usual, cleaning the TW cache might help, too.
regarding the error message:
"The project on the server has been corrupted and is unusable. You must rebuild the project..."
The cause may be the stair settings. Check these before releasing the project.
The stair settings must be checked for the following, preferably spiral stairs.
1.
This issue occurs when the stair settings under "Rules & Standards" – "Calculate Length" – "Along Chord" (Entlang der Sehne) is selected.
However, if the staircase is created using "Along the Arc (Legacy System) (Entlang des Bogens Altsystem)," the problem no longer occurs.
2.
- “Rules & Standards” => “Lauflinie” => Remove the checkmark next to “tapered step width (Verjüngte Trittstufenbreite)”.
Changing the setting for an existing staircase also alters its geometry, so it may be easier to reconstruct the staircase using the settings mentioned above.

Ernest,
I'll reiterate what I responded with, just substitute stair for MVO etc.
'if archicad does not work due to a stair corruption, then archicad doesn't work. if we get failed t/w notifications every time a stair isn't 100% perfect, or a standards and rules setting is not exactly as you want it to be, then the software is broken'
...
We've gone down the path of clearing caches/prefs
We've gone down the path of saving a pln, open/repair, and share a new file
We've gone down the path of extensive library and view map clean up and file reduction
...
teamwork errors persist... And the thing is, we shoulnd't have to clear caches daily or repair files weekly, or even audit files for library, view map, and geometry/calculation errors in order to do a simple 'send changes' without getting a warning. Yes, files should be maintained and audited regularly, but not to ensure the file can be saved.
...
GS telling you your file isn't saving or you are getting t/w warnings because of an issue with your stair is like being told by your mechanic that your car's engine wont run because you have a flat tire or a chip in your wind screen. Yeah, I can change a flat tire. I can drive with a crack in my window... but I can't swap an engine... This is a problem with the whole car, and GS can't blame the driver for this. AC29 simply does not work.

make sure you pass the error on to your reseller and local support; I don't want to be the only squeaky wheel talking about this!

Hello,
We're having the same problems here.
Regarding the errors that might be causing the the crashes, and looking on the things that they told you to look at:
-use of add-ons
-some library issues
-missing model view options
We've been using BimmTool, the addon that's helps a lot working with point clouds. The addon is great but it's libraries use is a bit diferent that the standard libraires. We have blank MVO. We will try to disable the addon and check if the error persists.
It is also know that Graphisoft changed something regarding plugins and some of them needed to be rewritten to be compatible with AC29.
Are you using any "new" addon?

Last year we had a similar problem with railings. Somehow one railing had literally a knot which led to crashes while uploading and\or updating hotlinks.
From this point of view: yes, Archicad is broken.

They should hire Testers, instead of using us to test their product

or they should just use the product themselves...
