How does one import 2d figues into the 3d window?

More specifically, I'm wanting to populate a building, and I have many images of people that I want to place into the model. what is the best way to go about this?

I should make it clear that I would like to create my own 2d figures out of a stock of photos I have.

Use the custom option with the People Bitmap object.

Once you mask the background of your image using Photoshop and place the image in the Archicad library (use a new folder), you will call the image into the object.

Viola.

I'm sorry, I don't quite follow you.

Where do I find the custom option?

At the bottom of the picture parameter list, of course.
Then write in the file name for the new image.

Sorry if I sound stupid - but do you mask the image in photoshop using the layer mask then leave it as a layer (or do you flatten the image, which would mean there is no transparency).

Also, which file format does archicad prefer?

Edit: psd works okay - for anyone interested.
I had just forgotten to restart ArchiCAD when I added the images to the library folder.
