Where are forum Macros explained please? I have tried searching in Help but didnt find anything.

Ah, those macros.

If you often type the same thing in many posts, you can save them in the macro section you show in your image..

Then as you are composing your post, you can call the macro as @mikas has shown in his post.

What is a 'Forum Macro' supposed to do?

I have never heard of it (or maybe I'm just not thinking clearly yet).

They seem to be shortcuts to text clips, could be more too, I don't know (=IDK).
