It would also be good if you can mark one or several posts/discussions as read directly in the list view.

No need to really.

Once you have read the post, just return and it will be gone from the list.

Otherwise you can tick the box to the left of the post/s, then at the top left in the options, you can mark them as read.

No real need as one just have to open every post and use either return or a bookmark to get back? Seriously.

And the second part is more or less exactly what I suggested - the problem being that there's no box showing...

You have a list of the unread posts.

You read a post, then return in your browser to go back to the list.

Because you have read it, the post is no longer in the list.

What could be simpler than that?

Sorry that must just be a moderator thing.

I forget we don't see exactly what you do.

I will ask to see if it can be made available to all users.

Under the premise that I want to read all post, perhaps nothing. But the thing is that I don't want to read all post. I want to be able to see all new posts and have an easy way to remove the ones I'm not interest in.

That would be great!

Yes I understand, that is why I have asked if that tick box can be added for all users.

Let's hope it can be done.

There is another twist to this that stems from the old forum. The "Unread" list is great for a first hit, BUT in the past we also had a "Recent" post list. Once you visit a post it is logically removed from the "Unread" list. We are then back to that scenario that you want to add a comment to something you read previously, it has been buried again. So, it would be helpful if we could have an "Unread" post list and also a "Recent" list that link to actual posts please.

Yes, the recent post functionality is instead under hot topics on the landing page (and only for topics and not posts).

It seems as there's a lot of potential functionality when it comes to topics/posts but it's implemented in a really poor way. What I would suggest is that the functionality of unread posts, hot topics and search is combined to make a message board. I think that that would be an actual improvement from the old forum. A place where you can see all new posts and topics, filter by location, date, etc. and sort by date, views, likes, etc.

There is also some inconsistency in the naming of things that should be fixed.

Eg. board/forum, topic/discussion , message/post

I usually click a link with the scroll wheel to open it in a new tab. I click 5-10 links this way. The "unread posts" page also stay open this way. Then, when I read all those 5-10 pages, I simply update the "unread posts" page.

I guess we won't be going back, but what is that old saying "If it isn't broken, don't try to fix it." Apart from tying the log in to Graphisoft User accounts I can't see one thing that is better in this new forum. 🙄 Not sure who makes these decisions, but some interaction by GS with users before making these changes might help making more informed choices that work.

I guess that there is a lot of functionality at the backend that could be used to increase and deepen user interaction. But given the implementation - that sure stands as an irony.

Just found another hidden/scattered functionality. Under options for a topic it is possible to float the topic. This means that the topic will be pinned at the top of the list of forum posts for the specific forum.

It is also possible to float an entire forum but I haven't been able to see what that does.

The terminology is still all over the place  topic/discussion/thread, pinned/floated.
