3D Trimming

Is it possible to trim a 2D line in a 3D window (i.e. sections)? If not, this should be a new feature in AC 11.

Could you give a little more detail about your wish?

Sections really aren't 3D windows.
They are analytical views tied to the model data.

If you ARE working in section, any linework you add is treated as any drafting in the floor plan would be. Trimmable slimmable.

You CAN make a DRAWING from a section. This explodes the 3D objects and elements into their composite lines and fills. In this case, it ALL becomes UNLINKED drafting.

If you actually need to draw in an internal engine 3D view, a cheapandnasty way is to export the view as vector lines and paste them into an independant detail. boring drafting, yet again.

You could set your S/E to Drawing mode, do the trim, then change it back to Auto-Rebuild.

You can trim (or more correctly, SPLIT) a line to a 3D element in a Section window.

Select the line, and with line tool active CTRL-click on the edge of the object you wish to trim (split) / extend to, then delete the leftover bit, if any. CTRL-click on the line itself (scissors trim) does not do it.
