3d window_ Snap to cutted objects

When creating a section in the building with the marquee tool, we can not snap to the cutted elements in 3D.

Ie , moving vertically slab to align it with a cutted beam.

There won't be any nodes generated at the cut end of the beam which is why you can't snap to it.
But you should be able to snap to the other end of the beam if you can see it.
Or any other node that is level with the beaam - i.e. the top of a column or wall.
Constrain your slab to a vertical drag and you can use any point in space if it is at the right height.

Also you will find you may have better luck in a section rather than 3D.
You can always create a quick section for working purposes only (not for documentaion) and then you can even delete it later if you want.
Of course if you have a real section for documentation then use that.
In section you can snap to the lines of cut elements - not just the nodes.

Thanks Barry,

I just hopped for a possible solution directly in the 3d window , as I work more and more in it when modifying objects ( that's one of the ArchiCAD's strongest points ).
