There have been previous threads about this, and as I understand there was an option to align the cover fill to a 3d texture in previous versions. As of now (AC25) this functionality is gone - it is not possible to align the cover fill of a slab in plan view to its texture in 3d. Having the ability to do so would be great to have - this way, you would be able to make sure your tiles / planks start at the right point and you would be able to manipulate it both in 3d or 2d, without having to do the same work twice.
