For example:
- When you want to edit a model view option: click on it in the quick palette to get to it, instead of going to a menu dropdwown.
-When you edit a composite_: from there navigate to the materials, to their surfaces, to their hatches. Instead of closing the composite menu ,opening the material menu , edit, close it open the surface menu close it, open the hatch menu, closet it. etc....
- Lot of things like that.

Having the ability to have multiple windows (surfaces, fills, etc.) open would be really convenient. +1

This is already possible. If you click the leftmost part of the Model View Options button in either the Quick Options Palette or in the Options Bar, it will take you to the Model View Options Dialog.
I agree with the other wishes.

Thank you Laszlo for the trick.
But my main concern is when editing materials and composites and other attributes.
It is definitely time consuming and feel old fashioned.
If you count the unnecessary clicks you feel a bit fooled.
for ex:
Let's say you make a new material and then want to apply a new hatch for it:
-open surface menu
-choose new
-choose duplicate/rename
-close dialog
-open hatch menu
-create new hatch
-close dialog
-open surface menu
-select the surface
-choose the new hatch in the list

How it could be:
-open surface menu
-choose new surface
-select duplicate/rename
-open hatch dialog (from there)
-create new hatch
-close hatch dialog
-select the new hatch in the surface dialog

First solution is 10 clicks, the second 7 clicks, and in the second you avoid menu dropdowns that are actually more time consuming than clicks. Plus you don't have to remember the name of this new hatch and find it in the list.

Note: I can't edit my previous post, is this normal?

Yes, this would be both nice and faster.

You should be able to edit any post that you posted, so no, not being able to do it is not normal.
