Column and beam Reference Axis

Hia,

I would like that ArchiCAD had the possibility of placing a symbol for the Column Reference Axis, like this:

I would also like that there was an option, as there is for walls, to change the reference axis but the column and beam didn’t move. The wall’s option is Edit \ Reference Line and Plane \ Modify Reference line. I would like this option for columns and beams.

These sound like reasonable and useful wishes, so I vote Essential.

By the way, I have created a Poll, so now you can vote for your own wish.

Hi,

Thank you very much for creating the wish!

I am happy to say this one has been recorded in our WishList database already (please refer to it in the future as Wish #12482). Hopefully, our Product Management team will adopt this one in the future.

Thank you once more. I wish you a great day, and take care!

Best regards,
Minh

Hi! Yes, this is an essential tool indeed!

Has been any development since 2020?

Thanks!

So I did some digging and it seems that the way the walls and slabs are defined in their code is different from the beams. Beams aren't able to change the reference line without moving.

The only way is to create an automation to move it to the previous position once changed, calculating the movement once redefined the reference line and performing the opposite movement.

I am getting a quote for creating a small addon that can do that, if there is anyone interested we could share the cost.
