Core Only Wall Cleanup -when Core Materials are not the same

I frequently need a Core Only plan showing simplified 2-line walls.

One of the many things I use this kind of drawing for is to generate .dwg files for use by the Engineer and others.

The problem is that it is not possible to display the walls as Core Only and have them clean up properly - when the Core materials are not the same.

The workaround is simple enough -- just change the Core materials so they are all the same, generate the necessary drawings, then change the Core materials back to what they were.

We shouldn't need any workarounds for something so fundamental as making a simplified drawing with 2-line walls that cleans up perfectly- even when the Core materials are not the same. Exterior walls with insulation for example and partitions are almost never going the have the same material- which means that a Core Only display of the walls is never going to clean up properly.

It can't be that complicated to fix this. Perhaps a toggle to make the Core Only display treat all the Core materials as if they were the same.

Perhaps there are times when people want to show Core only with many different materials. ?

In any case, to display simple 2-line Core Only walls in a drawings is a fundamental and routine task, and it should clean up properly.

The extra line that shows up can be an important line that means something. So it is not ok to just ignore it, and it takes too much extra work to get rid of it.

Here is a link to some posts about this very little problem with the program that can actually cause more trouble than the programmers may know. ?

Just because it is a very small thing in terms of program functionality does not mean it is not important to fix.

If you have ever tried to make a perfect .dwg with ArchiCAD, without a bunch of extra lines, missing lines, and other CAD file clutter you will understand that it is important for all ArchiCAD users to be able to generate this kind of simplified drawing without so much work.

100% Agree With You. Very Small things in term of program funcionality could make a big difference.
