Cover & Background Fills for Beams

Beams should have Cover Fills and Background Fills!
There should be different fills for Cover Fill and Cut Fill, like Slabs, and not like Walls, where the fill is the same!

Right now I am modelling a pergola and I have to use the Fill Tool to cover the beam so it could be clear which one is above the other. I lost as much time drawing the Fills as making the Beams!

Maybe it will be a listed feature of ArchiCAD 15 if the feature list of 14 is anything to go by.

If and when this is ever fixed, please don't do it just half way either. Keep in mind that with the advent of complex profiles beams are not just beams. They are used for many other purposes as well. For instance I have used a beam for an eyebrow dormer where the fill should be distorted with the slope like a roof fill.

It would also be good for the fill to be distorted to match the surface of the beam as well. Just take a look at some of the uses that Dwight comes up with for complex profiles and think about how that represents in 2D.

Essential! I'm just now running into this as a problem. Karl's fix would be ok if changing the cut plane did not mess up everything else in my story.

It would be nice if you could set the cut plane for certain items differently than others.

Fixed? HA!

They did add a hole option though... still doesn't make up for no cover fill!
