Fills must not be separated in the list!

Fill must not be separated according to thei type - symbol fills and vectorial fills!

Fills with the same names have to stay next to each other!

The screenshot tell everything!

You do not need so categorically.
Let it be the switch (by type or by name).

A switch or anything else - just to have it!

A toggle would be best but if I had to pick one 'by name' wins hands down. Strange GS logic at work again .. sort by type and then name....

I agree also! It would make much more sense to default to 'by name' ordering, especially in the tools dialog boxes.

It would still be beneficial when ordered 'by name' to somehow indicate if a fill is symbolic or not. The obvious solution would be to use the existing method, which displays a coloured halo around their icons of the symbolic fills. Like the attached -

Agree. And maybe with more noticeable color frames...

In addition, what about a sort of "big tooltip" showing the vector fill, when the mouse hover on the bitmap patterns? With the fast computer we have now, this wouldn't be a problem
