for navigation, that together with 'bounds or collision detection' would allow you to visit the building model as if you were a real person, and not a ghost!
Bumble up the stairs, jump off a balcony, shoot your collegues to smithereens - (I am referring to an ancient post by Dwight, about a gdl 'thud' noise, re. gaming and openGL.)
Yeah, avatars for teamwork! that would liven things up in there! With an invisible wall seperating workspace! (sorry, I go too far).
Seriously though, gravity and bounds detection for cameras is a must IMO.
