Gravity for cameras

Wouldn't it be neat if we could turn on gravity so that there is no need for math when inserting cameras at eye level? On a site mesh you could just drop them all over the place and know you have a path following the terrain.

sounds like a no-brainer to me . . . amazing it's been overlooked for so long!

I agree - even just making them story sensitive would be nice!!

i just posted this elsewhere - gravity for placement but also for navigation, that together with 'bounds or collision detection' would allow you to visit the building model as if you were a real person, and not a ghost!

Bumble up the stairs, jump off a balcony, shoot your collegues to smithereens - (I am referring to an ancient post by Dwight, about a gdl 'thud' noise, re. gaming and openGL.)

Yeah, avatars for teamwork! that would liven things up in there! With an invisible wall seperating workspace! (sorry, I go too far).

Seriously though, gravity and bounds detection for cameras is a must IMO.
