HLM_SECTION

Hi all again,

Archicad manual in "About HLM" establish:

[..] Section/Elevation/IE markers and the contents of Section/Elevation/IE and 3D Document windows as well as Cameras of any type are skipped when placing the Module

Then see the atached image.

I have multiples instances of HLM and I need a section of every Module, it will easier if Section Mark travel with the HLM to the Host File.

Thanks in advanced,
Joaquín

Do you know what this would mean?
It would mean that if you have a hotlinked module that is placed 50 times in a host project file, then 50 Section would have to be created in the host file since the Section source marker is placed 50 times as well as part of each hotlinked module instance.

So you actually need the sections in your site (master) plan and not the modules.
Otherwise how could one section show 50 different site levels?

Thanks Barry,

I think, and probably i am in a error, that section tools is like other objects, with a different coding. In this case my wish is that grahisoft allow that section "travel" with the HLM by your own decision.
in this way, the sections would always be placed where HLM would be placed, but they would cut all the geometries existing in the Host file.

thanks again.

I know what you want but the thing is that anything in a hotlink module is an exact replica of the original module file.
So your section would be exactly the same section in each of the placed modules.
You wouldn't be able to adjust it's extents if you needed to and how would the one section show 50 variations of you site based on where the module is placed?
I guess if GS did a bit (lot) of work on it that it could be possible - as we can schedule items in each module in the master file and have them all list separately.
So maybe they could make the section appear as individual sections.

However it is not possible.
You have far more control placing the sections you need in the master site plan.
They will still all show the same info from the module and you may want to combine to a few of the sections together as one where the modules are next to each other.
And of course they will show as separate sections in the project/view maps.
