Hierarchical grouping method for layers and surfaces

Hi,
In the future I could organize my files better with a hierarchical grouping method for elements like layers or surfaces. Something like folders, subfolders which I can arrange according to the project requirements.
Usually large projects end up with large number of layers which can be managed by various naming methods but I would like to keep the name of the layer "clean", without prefixes. The layer extensions I don't use because I don't find it useful.
More annoying is when I have to assign a surface and the surfaces list is showing a huge unorganized (only by name) list. Because each time I import or use a BIM library or new lcf, it comes with all additional surfaces. I would like to have all this new imported surfaces under a folder with the name of the source library.

What do you think? Please vote.
