In place parameter editing

AC8 introduced the "diamond hotspot" allowing us to edit specific geometrical parameter in plan view.

When hitting these hotspots, a popup window appears to let us type the value desired.

Wouldn't be useful if other parameters such as drop down list or material could be accessed this way ?

This is a BIG one. I have often wished for this (and can't believe I haven't posted it already).

Besides pop-ups in the drawing window for values lists, how about library parts with editable text fields?

Yes ! If the object creator could specify which parameter could be accessible directly from the editing view without having to open the object dialog box, and if it had the choice to let the user edit ANY parameter this would be great.

The next thing would be a single key shortcut to access the values and keyboard navigation between these fields :
switch to another values : TAB or SHIFT TAB
validating a value, with visual return (means the object is changed) : ENTER
completing the edition / quiting the edition : SHIFT+ENTER
