More Global Variables for GDL programming

I would like to use this poll for ideas about more useful global variables and requests that we might need in GDL scripting.



1. could we have global variable/request for line types of construction elements displayed across stories (Preferences Tab). I want to use these settings for my library parts when 'Use Symbol Linetypes' is ON. It doesn't make sense when I want to keep 2 or more line types on the home storey.

I totally agree. Every variable a user can set should be accessible via GDL or the API.

I would be happy if the section ID and section name where available as globals so I can name my internal sections easily (I know I can workaround with <DRAWINGNAME>)

Not really a global variable, but I'd like to see a function that allows me to query whether or not a layer is on/off. It would be used to control visibility of object parts through multiple layer sets.
