Multiple User Origins and Skewed Grids

I'm probably one of the last persons to praise and want AutoCAD funtionality in ArchiCAD but...

It would be nice if we could have the ability to save and recall different User Origins and Skewed Grids. Something like AutoCAD's UCS. I might add that AutoCAD's UCS is 3-dimensional.

This is one thing that I get asked almost daily. We have acquired quite a few old AutoCAD users over the past 12 months, this is one thing that they truly miss and one of their biggest wishes for ArchiCAD..

How about - if there was equivalent to "plan" command in Autocad - so that skewed grid would rotate to be displayed orthogonal...

Yes, that would be helpful, as well.

I would love to be able to rotate the plan view. So like how in the top view 3d I can rotate the camera to any direction.

So therefore north and grid would change accordingly. And have the adility to save the plans rotation in any quickview.

Would be handy when dealing with buildings that are not square (ie no right angles) or is not in line with the site or other buildings on the site.

Hmm, just thought, this could prove extremely difficult to implement and may end up just confusing people.

Me too ! This would allow much easier work on unorthogonal buildings and much more precision (I had an horrible time with an angular part of a plan : nothing was perfectly perpendicular | parellel in the part with the second orientation).

UCS rotation is also a common wish in our office....
