Navigator Preview Zooming. Esp. with Scroll/Center mouse btn

I wish the Navigator Preview had scroll button zooming capability. I would like to use this pallet however since one cannot zoom in (it always shows the whole model area), it is very difficult to get accurate alignments. If we could zoom in and out I could see myself using this tool quite often. As of now, I only use it rarely.

Isn't there a scroll bar at the bottom of that palette? (plan and perspective 3D not axonometric 3D).

Or if you have a scroll wheel on your mouse you can use that (plan only).

Yes, there is a scroll bar, but it scrolls in on the main screen, it does not zoom in on the "preview" screen. So if I want to place the viewpoint I'm looking from in 3d, I can't do it with any accuracy, because I can't zoom in. It seems to me that using the navigator preview as a way of placing views and adjusting perspective degrees of the view camera is one of the only useful purposes for the Navigator Preview Pallet itself. Is there any other useful way of using the Navigator Preview Pallet? Maybe I just don't understand the purpose of it. I never use it, because it seems the only purpose for me using is is to locate the eye location in the 3d view screens and then adjust the degree angles for the view cone.

I actually don't use it at all.
Can't say I have ever had the need for it.
