Currently, there are 3 line categories:
- Drafting
- Cut
- Skin seperator
New additional line categories would be useful for 2d lines:
- Overhead
- Hidden
- Outline
which can be overriden by graphic overrides if this wish is implemented:
These line categories would also be "baked into" 3d elements such as stairs, roofs, etc. giving the user powerful options if the above wish is implemented as it was already approved.
In elevation/section you'd see either:
- outlines for uncut objects
- cut lines and skin separator lines for cut objects.
- manually drawn lines, fills, and polylines are user-defined any category (default: drafting)
In plan, you'd see either:
- lines, fills, and polylines are user-defined any category (default: drafting)
- 3d objects generate outlines by default unless see below
- 3d objects generate cut, skin seperator, hidden, and overhead lines where appropriate
- furniture and 3d GDL objects are outlines by default (except windows/doors which are outlines/cut)
- symbolic objects are drafting by default
In worksheets it would be any category (default: drafting unless furniture)

Hello,
Thank you for sharing the idea, we truly appreciate the time you've taken to contribute towards the development of the software!
I'm glad to say that we took notice and we have added this wish to our Wishlist database.
(For future reference, you can refer to it as IDEA-11860)
I hope we see this get implemented in the future.
Have a great day!
Best regards,
Minh
