No print layer?!?!?!

How about having a layer that "never" prints? I know you can achieve this through layers and layer combinations, but would it be nice to have a no print layer?
Thanks,

I'm curious: what would this be useful for?

Why not just turn it off? Or have a pen that never plots?

Yes,
I'm with Tom on this one. I really can't see the advantages of having a layer that doesn't print when you could simply turn it of.

Cheers.

I can see the advantage as the no-print layer would always be a part of your layer set and you wouldn't have to toggle the layer on and off during drawing. Don't think it would have a high priority though.

My question would be why work around when it could just be a layer?

So you want a layer to be visible, but not plot. I get it.

I think I could buy into it, as long as it was part of the Layer Combination: Visible when working always, and Plotting in some, not plotting in others.

In our case there are certain notes that we never print. They are just on the drawing for reference etc.... We currently setup a layer that does not show in any layer combination. We just thought it would be nice to have a layer w/in archicad {similar to the default archicad layer} that would never print. Why have a hotspot that never prints? It just for reference.
Thanks,

Hotspots don't ever plot, do they?

I think the option to print the non-print layer should be an option in plotmker. Defaulted to not print of course.

Thats the point that I'm trying to make. Some people make think a No Print layer is needed. So why have hotspots which is a no print.

I was just comparing
