That's already working, but quite counterintuitive.
There is a seperate command for splitting curtain walls ("facades").
However, you will need another (dummy) curtain wall.
So:
Draw the dummy CW.
Select the CW to split.
Use the dedicated CW-split command.
Now select the dummy CW. This will be the place where your main curtain wall is cut.
Works with closed CWs as well.
