Polygonal walls

Currently it is impossible to create a closed walled structure out of polygonal walls - abbutting polygonal wall elements do not heal against each other in plan, and if user tries to make perimeter wall from a single polygon wrapping around space, the interior of that space is filled in by wall - no voids/holes are permited inside a closed polygon

We need a way to overcome this limitation - either polygons should heal, or voids must be permitted.

Hmm- I wonder why I cant do that?
Poly walls dont have ref lines do they?

You can work with polygonal wall also, as with fills or slabs.

But unlike slabs or fills, I cannot make or cut out a hole - even if I make a "c" shape then extend the ends in an attempt to form an "o" the hole in the middle fills in as soon as ends touch. The same methods work fine with slabs or fills...(?)

Cheers

Now understand.
Just do not know why this should be.
In ArchiCAD are many ways to achieve the desired result.

Hi - thanks - yes this is what I have been doing as a workaround - but should not be necessary . Graphisoft, please fix!

You can join two polygonal walls nicely, using the 'Change Reference edge of Polyon Wall' sub-element edit from the pet palette. Just get the reference lines to meet. I don't have much experience doing this, but I think you need to have 'Polywall corners can change' checked in the Wall Settings.

You can also use columns to remove holes from walls, but it's not the same. We should be able to edit a polywall, just like we can other polygonal elements.

If Rob made his wall using just one wall, I'd sure like to find out how!
