Preference to allow ArchiCAD sound JUST FOR TEAMWORK REQUESTS!

Robert Nichols
Advocate
I am sure I will never set the current option for ArchiCAD sounds to "yes". A chime every time I option-click a wall??!!?? So I know that I option-clicked a wall? So I can be sure I have no friends left at the end of a charrette?

BUT - in our small office we are constantly telling each other that we have requested items via Teamwork.

I big improvement would be if you broke out a few critical Teamwork "alert" sounds from the rest of the non-alert sounds, so they could be controlled with their own dedicated user preference.

Thanks for listening.

I don't have speakers on my work pc so this feature would be useless for me, however, a visual notification in a separate tab would help a lot. I would move the whole teamwork box to a tab, it seems easier for me and saves some screen space, too.
Until then I just move the Teamwork notifications close to the info bar so at some point I will see them.

I haven't tried this so I don't know if this will work.

In the Archicad program folder you will see a SOUNDS folder.
In there are all the sound (WAV) files.

Maybe you could try renaming / moving / deleting the ones you don't want to here and leave just the two files starting with "ACTW" - I assume this means Archicad Team Work.

Yes - the visual notification mentioned above would be great. I would tolerate my whole window going 5% red for a fraction of a second!

Hi Christophe,
I have no idea where they are on a MAC, but these are the files in Windows.

I am not familiar with MACs at all.
But I assume they are still .WAV files.
Can you do a search of the whole system to find them?
Or maybe they are in a hidden folder that can only be seen with the correct permissions?

Barry.
