Repair/Recover

I've not seen a more corrupt prone program than ArchiCAD, next to AutoCAD (but at least AutoCAD has repair/recover capability). Right now there are four of us (in an office of 8 ArchiCAD users) that are working with corrupt PLN/PLPs. It is very frustrating. Each of us is wasting at least two hours a day fist fighting ArchiCAD to get our work done.

So I am dreaming that Graphisoft can create a repair and/or recover command, similar to the AutoDesk one. Or better.

What do you think?

I just tried your recovery tip on a 7.0.3 file with a corrupted Publisher set... Alas, it didn't work. I haven't had a chance to try it on a real corrupted file yet.

I'm jealous -Our boy stayed on a 3-hour schedule for the first 3 months before he started sleeping through the night.

Ok it hapened to me today - some files saved with last 8.1R1+ will not open.

I published a tip in other problems section...
anyway - first thing I would try next is to rename the libraries and loading a file without them - it worked for me! - (last 2 days would be lost if it did not work)

Bummer, David. Maybe it only works on certain types of corruptions.

It has saved our most recent corruption, though. It's been 2 weeks and the file's still working fine whereas it was crashing at every send & receive before.

Piotr, remember that you're doing a forward merge so there is no need for the things you mentioned to be merged since they are already there.

Did you do a reverse merge?

Eric, my problem was the file crashed Archicad on processing "Variables" ...
So I could not load it normally. renaming libs helped.
