Roof wizard revision

At least in the US, collar ties are not installed on each side of every rafter pair. Normally, one tie every 48" on one side will do. We need a few more options to choose from. Now it places 2 ties on each rafter pair of every set.

Allow selection of collar tie spacing - every 4th rafter as an example
Allow selection of tie on both sides or one side.

This is small compared to Stairmaker, but would be great to have as now that part is unusable and must be manually done.

thanks GS

Have never yet used the roof wizard in a project, but checked it out after your post. In my roof wizard you can select which rafter pairs to tie, and then there are radio buttons for single sided or double sided ties in the tie configuration dialog box.
cheers

I am referring using the "wizard" (at the bottom of the list), which will not work that way, but it would be nice if it did. But yes, you can do that via the place tie only menu. I use it for generating material list mainly. It is very nice to select all roofs, click and have everything zapped in place, but for whatever reason the wizard, which will do the whole roof, only allows rafter ties on both sides, and each pair. I usually just place a few extra 2x6x whatevers off to the side for the count... thanks
