Stop stealing focus when launching a new instance of Archicad

vlahtinen
Contributor

When launching new instances of Archicad, the new instance keeps on stealing focus in different phases of the start-up process. It is really infuriating when working in another program while waiting the start-up process to finish to be thrown to Archicad (which doesn't even ask for anything, just doing its thing). For example, I set Archicad to open a file in a new instance and move to a browser window to draft this message. In the middle of writing, Archicad pops up. My current task of writing is interrupted for no reason.

I wish for an option to disable this behavior. @GRAPHISOFT

I'm using macOS. It at least used to be against the Apple Human Interface Guidelines for background applications to steal focus.

I think all apps (at least I've noticed on Mac) do this when they take a long time to boot up. It is infuriating tho, I agree!

Drives me nuts too.

Also when it randomly fails to become active when CMD+Tab.

This is basic death by thousand paper cuts item.
